Exercise ball
Even though using an exercise ball may not be at the top
of some peoples’ exercise lists, the fact is that these balls
can help you perform a pretty good workout. Some of the exercises you
can try include:
• Trunk extension – To do a trunk extension, get down on
your knees and drape your upper body over the top of the ball. Your
arms should lightly hug the back of the ball. Next, lift your chest
off the exercise ball until your spine is straight. Repeat this for
a few reps.
• Basic crunches – Start off this exercise with your feet
flat on the floor. Next, place your lower back on the exercise ball.
It is important that you keep your upper body and thighs parallel to
the floor. Then proceed to do crunches as you normally would. Use your
abs to lift your back and shoulders off the ball.
• Elevated push-ups – To do elevated push-ups, you should
place the front of your knees on the exercise ball. Your hands should
be palm down, flat on the floor. Your whole body should also be parallel
to the floor. As you begin exercising on this exercise ball, look down
at the floor and slowly lower your face within six inches of it. Repeat
this process for several repetitions.
